Let's Talk About Shadow People: Are They Getting A Bad Rap?

They are commonly regarded in modern folklore and paranormal popular culture as malicious or evil spirits. Why? Are they two dimensional beings?

Well, no one really knows for sure. Some believe that because they appear dark that they are associated with evil. Many have encountered them in various locations, at various times of both the day and night time hours. Some reports indicate encounters that were neither menacing or frightening, they just went about what it is they do.  Another report came from an investigator who encountered a shadow person that charged at her during an investigation, stopping within only inches of her face, obviously frightening her.

Are they aggressive entities? Most would say yes, some would say no. Are they as most animals in nature, more scared of us then we are of them? I don't know, but I can say that incidents involving shadow people can be quite disturbing.

Does their darkness indicate relation to dark forces, or is it just our perception? Reports of encounters remain frequent, so hopefully, some theories either proving or disproving not only their existence, but their classification can be determined at some point down the line.

Have you had a shadow person encounter? Feel free to share in the comments section!!

  1. I think we have one in our current house. I haven't seen a black man shaped outline directly in front of me, but my husband and I have seen things (many times) go by out of the peripheral vision. My very skeptical husband, Skip, admitted with all that's going on here, he's scratching is head over it. Twice I saw a shadow on the wall of a person going by, when there wasn't anyone there and I was not moving at all, nor in the same room as it was. Now that is really a weird feeling.

None of us have ever felt threatened by it/them, and it doesn't seem to be malicious at all. I don't know if it's connected the time our bedroom lit up really bright when there was not a light on, no lightning (room darkening shades too), no computer in the room, cell phones were off - nothing was on at all, believe me we looked thoroughly both times for an explanation; a cough or clearing of the throat or cough right next to the bed proceeded the first light incident, it wasn't us and our son was away; or the little blue light about the size between a quarter and a golf ball, floating around the headboard like tinkerbell. We tore the bed up looking for a flashlight, cell phone, ipod anything that would light up...nothing.

We have also had a huge black mass in the hallway outside our bedroom that totally blackened out the street light's reflection on the coat closet door, completely blackened out. I attributed it to my eyes until the next day when our son, who also was awakened by the proceeding crash, came up to see if we were ok, and came around the corner, to a pitch black hallway and decided to just go back downstairs...saying "I wasn't going to walk into it" he said the next morning, unprompted by me and I hadn't even told him that I saw it yet. He told me I needed to put a nightlight on in the living room so you can see...there was one on there, has been since the beginning and it was working, not blown or anything. We just looked at it and then at each other. I assured him that I didn't think it was harmful whatever it is (he's major skeptical too! LOL so much for family support of my passion, eh?)

These were not my first paranormal experiences in life, just the first ones since we moved here. I have had a long sporatic history of paranormal experiences, so I'm not too surprised when it happens...

Besides my right ear clicks, like when it's plugged up or in a plane or something, but it constantly clicks when something is happening...leading me to question and look into the theory of barometric pressure changes resulting from or affecting paranormal experiences such as entities trying to materialize.
