Did you tune in last Tuesday March 27th for our oblong table session? Here are some last minute thoughts from those that sat in...
Brian Easterwood: I don't like the direction that the field has taken on the aspect of women. There are big headed ones and ones threatening violence against others, and then the whole panty thing. It is sad to see when there are many women working hard in the field and doing positive things and having to battle the labels that these low class people are putting out there.
Bryan Whatley: I guess nothing really surprises me anymore about people and what they are willing to do..... life was, is, and will be so 'to each their own'. There is one thing about commercialism; even though someone makes a product, you don't have to buy it.
Anita Brown: One thing I didn't get to address on the show as much as I would have liked to is that beyond the disgust of selling used panties, the size thing really bothers me. There are huge problems with teens and young women regarding image in our society. Many of them feel that in order to be considered beautiful, attractive, sexy, or worthy that they must be stick thin to be so. This is absolutely NOT the case!!! When women promote the idea that one must be in a certain small size range (that can be unheathy for many) to be acceptable, this promotes eating disorders, crash dieting, and even drug use that sometimes lead to death. This in and of itself is not a view that belongs in a field full of beautiful, smart, talented women of many shapes and sizes!
Special Guest Hilary Scales: What has this field come to? What is next, para-prostitution??? I do have to say that I think that this idea regarding the panties and calendars is a huge discredit to this field and I strongly feel that if this is done it opens the door to rapists, child molesters and the kind of people we try to stay away from. I do not want these types of men coming to our events because it poses more danger to women in the field.
